Rick Mercure, Esq

Having represented some of the nation’s largest insurance carriers, Rick Mercure uses that experience to represent those injured by the negligence of others.

Rick Mercure has litigated thousands of cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to capital felonies, highly contested divorces, and complex civil matters. Rick has represented some of the nation’s largest insurance carriers in a multitude of state and federal civil suits.

Rick graduated with Honors from the University of Florida in 2009 and obtained his Juris Doctorate with Honors from the University of Miami in 2012. During his law school tenure, Rick was hand-selected amongst the largest class in school history to be the Research Assistant to a leading criminal defense attorney and professor of law. Additionally, Rick’s legal writing skills secured him a coveted position on the Law Review and the Dean’s List.

Following graduation, Rick gained extensive courtroom and trial experience working at the Public Defender’s offices in Miami, Gainesville, and Fort Myers, as well as in private practice.

While in private practice, Rick earned the Avvo Client’s Choice Award three (3) years in a row, as well as the “10 Best” Lawyers for Client Satisfaction.

Having acquired extensive courtroom and trial experience, Rick turned his primary focus to civil litigation in 2017 and hasn’t looked back since. He now uses that wealth of knowledge and experience to represent those injured by the negligence of others. When he’s not fighting big insurance, Rick enjoys off-road racing and exploring the outdoors with his wife and children: Chandler, Reagan and Reed.

Rick is a member of the Florida Bar and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
