SPRING HILL, FL – A pedestrian died after being hit by an SUV along a roadway in Hernando County Saturday night. According to the Tampa Bay Times , the victim was a 22-year-old Spring Hill woman who was walking on Spring Hill Drive near California Street when the accident occurred at about 10:45 p.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the SUV attempted to pass the woman as she was walking west on the road but she was struck by the right front corner of the vehicle. Her identity was not immediately released. 

The driver, a 34-year-old resident of Spring Hill, was not hurt in the incident. Troopers said he stopped the vehicle after the woman was hit.
