POLK COUNTY, FL – Two people were killed and three were injured in a five-vehicle crash on I-4 in Polk County, according to the Tampa Bay Reporter.

The crash took place in the westbound lanes of I-4 just after 10 a.m. Friday morning, when a sedan hit a semi-truck. The crash sent the sedan into oncoming traffic in the eastbound lanes of the highway, where it hit a second car. That car was then rear-ended by a third car. The accident caused another semi-truck and the original car to collide in the westbound lanes as well.

The second car’s driver and passenger were killed in the crash.

The incident caused the highway to close until around 3 p.m.
