PALM HARBOR, FL – A two-vehicle collision in Palm Harbor Friday morning left one woman dead and two others injured.

Fox 13 News reports the accident happened on McMullen Booth Road near Tampa Road. Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol determined that a 21-year-old woman was driving south when her vehicle went over a raised center median and struck a northbound SUV nearly head-on.

An 84-year-old passenger in the SUV was pronounced dead after being taken to an area hospital. The 79-year-old SUV driver was critically injured. Both women were from Clearwater. The other driver, a Tampa resident, was seriously injured.

One of the victims had to be extricated from their vehicle by the Palm Harbor Fire Rescue squad. The FHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
