HOLIDAY, FL – A pedestrian was struck and killed while walking across U.S. Highway 19 in Holiday on Tuesday night. It was the second pedestrian fatality on that roadway within a two-day period, the Suncoast News reports.

In Tuesday night’s incident, the Florida Highway Patrol said a woman was struck by an SUV as she walked north of the intersection of U.S. 19 and Alt. U.S. 19 at about 9:40 p.m.

The victim, a 38-year-old resident of Port Richey, was pronounced dead after being taken to a local hospital. The SUV driver, a 51-year-old man from Lutz, was not hurt in the crash.

On Sunday, the Suncoast News reported that a 39-year-old Port Richey man was fatally struck by a pickup truck while walking across U.S. 19 near Gordon Drive and State Road 52.

The names of the two victims have not yet been released.
