MANATEE COUNTY, FL – A multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer in Manatee County Monday morning left two people injured.

According to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, the accident occurred on State Road 64 near Dam Road at about 6:45 a.m. The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of a semi-trailer failed to maintain a single lane while going east on State Road 64. The truck hit an eastbound sedan, and then struck a second sedan that was going westbound. Troopers said another sedan went off the road to avoid a crash.

The truck driver, a 59-year-old Williston man, was critically injured in the crash. The driver of the first sedan that was struck, a 22-year-old woman from Avon Park, was seriously injured. The other two drivers were not hurt.
