2 plead guilty in Bayshore Boulevard crash that killed mother and daughter

TAMPA, FL – Two young men have pleaded guilty in connection with a crash that killed a mother and daughter in Hillsborough County, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Authorities said Cameron Coyle Herrin and John Alexander Barrineau were street racing when the accident occurred on Bayshore Boulevard on May 23, 2018. Herrin was driving a Ford Mustang GT when he struck 24-year-old Jessica Reisinger-Raubenolt and her 21-month-old daughter who she was pushing in a stroller. Prosecutors said data showed the car was going at 102 miles an hour just before the crash.

Barrineau, now age 20, entered a guilty plea last week to vehicular homicide and a racing charge for his role in the incident and reached an agreement with prosecutors to serve six years in prison.

Herrin also pleaded guilty but decided to let a judge decide on his sentence, with a sentencing hearing scheduled for next month.
