ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Police say a woman struck by a pickup truck in St. Petersburg earlier this month has now died of her injuries after her husband was killed in the same crash.

According to the Tampa Bay Times , 61-year-old Darlene Marie Surprenant of St. Petersburg passed away Sunday at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. She and her husband Robert T. Surprenant Jr. were struck by a Dodge Ram truck April 9 while crossing on the 2000 block of Central Avenue near 21st Street at 8 p.m. Robert Surprenant was pronounced dead that night. Darlene Surprenant had been in critical condition since the incident.
Police said the driver involved, 50-year-old Michael William Parker, stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators. He has not been charged.
