BRANDON, FL – A collision in Brandon on Sunday afternoon sent a vehicle into a pond and left three people injured, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 70-year-old man was driving a car on Brandon Boulevard near Limona Road shortly after 12 noon and was trying to change lanes when he crossed in front of an SUV. The SUV hit the back of the car, causing it go off the roadway and into a nearby pond.

The 70-year-old man, a Seffner resident, sustained serious injuries in the crash. The 35-year-old Brandon woman who was driving the SUV and her 66-year-old female passenger suffered minor injuries.
