ST. PETERSBURG, FL – An elderly man was fatally struck while crossing US-19 in St. Petersburg on Monday evening.
According to ION Tampa Bay, the 81-year-old Clearwater man was crossing 34th Street North near 50th Avenue when he was hit by a van.
The pedestrian, whose identity is unclear at this time, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
Two other vehicles were unable to stop in time and collided with the van. It is unclear if anyone was hurt as a result of that incident.
