84-year-old woman killed in two-car collision in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Police said an elderly driver died after her car was involved in a crash with a group of teenagers in St. Petersburg on Sunday.

In a news release, the St. Petersburg Police Department identified the victim as 84-year-old Mary E. Rohan of St. Petersburg. The accident happened at the intersection of 30th Avenue South and 34th Street South at about 2:30 p.m. According to police, Rohan was driving a Toyota and making a turn onto 34th Street South when she pulled into the path of an Infinity with five teenagers inside.

The vehicles collided and Rohan was pronounced dead at the scene. The teens exited their vehicle and ran to a nearby shopping center after the accident, police said.
