GREATER NORTHDALE, FL – An alleged impaired driver collided with a patrol vehicle and injured a Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office deputy at N Dale Mabry Hwy and Ehrlich Rd Sunday.

According to WFLA, Carlos Gutierrez Aquino ran a red light and collided with the patrol vehicle around 6 a.m. The collision spun the patrol vehicle into a car at the intersection.

First responders transported the deputy to an area hospital with an upper-body injury. Nobody else was injured in the incident.

Deputies ran a breathalyzer text on Aquino. He failed it and was charged with DUI involving property damage/injuries and driving without a valid license.
