LARGO, FL – A man riding a bicycle was killed in an accident in Pinellas County early Monday morning, reports the Tampa Bay Times.

The bicycle was involved in a collision with a vehicle in the area of Starkey Road and East Bay Drive in Largo shortly before 6 a.m., police said. Officers who responded to the accident said that the bicycle did not have rear lights.

The bicycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene by Largo Fire & Rescue. His name was not immediately released.

Largo’s Traffic Homicide Unit is trying to determine the cause of the crash, but they do not believe that alcohol was a contributing factor.
