NEW PORT RICHEY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a collision of two pickup trucks on State Road 54 Saturday left one of the drivers dead and the other injured.
According to the Tampa Bay Times, a 50-year-old Brooksville man lost control of his pickup at about 2:30 p.m. while driving on State Road 54 west near Old Millpond Drive south of New Port Richey. He went through a median and into the path of an eastbound pickup, resulting in a collision that sent both trucks spinning across the highway.
The Brooksville man passed away from his injuries Sunday morning at an area hospital. The other driver, a 67-year-old man from Trinity, was seriously injured in the crash.
