HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – The driver of a pickup truck was cited following a collision with a tractor-trailer on Interstate 275 in Hillsborough County, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
According to the Tampa Bay Reporter, the incident happened Monday morning on I-75 south near Dale Mabry Highway shortly before 9 a.m.
State troopers said 35-year-old Gomes Rodrigues Lindemberg of Tampa was driving a pickup towing a trailer when he tried to change lanes while going past other drivers on the highway. As he went past a tractor-trailer, the pickup trailer started to fishtail and Lindemberg lost control of the vehicle.
The pickup hit the front of the tractor-trailer, which then struck a guardrail and overturned. No one was injured in the crash, but portions of I-275 were temporarily blocked for over two hours.
Lindemberg was cited for making an improper lane change.
