TAMPA, FL – Police have identified the driver who was killed in a car crash in New Tampa last week, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

This is an update to a previous story.

The victim was 38-year-old Nicole Allen. Officials said she was driving on the K Bar Ranch Parkway Wednesday night at about 7 p.m. when her car went off the road, hit some trees and crashed into a pond near Laurel Vista Way. The car became partially submerged in the pond and rescuers were not able to save Allen. She was found dead when the vehicle was pulled from the water.

Police and emergency crews were able to help rescue a 12-year-old girl who was riding in the car with Allen.
