DOVER, FL – State troopers say a man driving under the influence was involved in a crash in Hillsborough County Thursday morning.

WFLA reports the 36-year-old man was driving a sedan east on Interstate 4 when he lost control of the vehicle and slammed into a pickup truck that had been abandoned just west of McIntosh Road in Dover.

Both vehicles caught fire as a result of the impact.  The driver and his 35-year-old passenger both escaped without injury.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver, a Clearwater resident, was arrested for DUI and cited for careless driving.
