LAKE WALES, FL – A driver is facing DUI charges following a crash that killed a passenger in Polk County. Fox 13 News reports 21-year-old Trevor Goodman was arrested in connection with the accident last Friday night.

Authorities say he lost control of a pickup truck in the area of Camp Mack Road and Camp Rosalie Road at about 10:30 p.m. The vehicle spun, went into a grassy area on the side of the road, and overturned.  One passenger, 22-year-old Charles Goodman of Lake Wales, was thrown from the pickup and died of his injuries. Another passenger was unhurt.

According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened after the three men left a bar where they had been drinking. A deputy noticed that Trevor Goodman showed signs of impairment, and a test showed his blood alcohol levels were over the legal limit.

He was charged with DUI manslaughter and driving with a suspended license causing death. Additional charges were pending, authorities said.
