PINELLAS PARK, FL – A moped rider was rushed to the hospital Tuesday morning following a collision with a car in Pinellas Park, WFLA reports.

The incident occurred in the area of 62nd Avenue and 39th Street at about 6:30 a.m. Police said the driver of a Nissan hit the moped, leaving the rider with serious injuries.

Both vehicles stayed at the scene, according to police.

The intersection was shut down to traffic for several hours while authorities investigated the accident.
