Motorcycle rider dies in crash involving 2 vehicles in St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, FL – A motorcyclist died in an accident in St. Petersburg Tuesday morning, according to a report by Fox 13 News.

Police said 31-year-old Edwin Colon was riding his motorcycle west on Roosevelt Boulevard near Interstate 275 when the crash occurred.  The motorcycle collided with one vehicle that was entering Roosevelt Boulevard off the exit ramp from I-275 south, and then was struck again by a second vehicle.

Colon was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

The accident shut down the westbound lanes of Roosevelt Boulevard and the southbound exit from I-275 while authorities investigated.
