Motorcycle rider dies in crash on I-75 in Hernando County

ZEPHYRILLS, FL – A motorcycle rider was killed in a crash in Hernando County Sunday, the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The victim was a 26-year-old man who was traveling on Interstate 75 near the entrance ramp for State Road 50. The Florida Highway Patrol said the man was accelerating onto I-75 from the ramp when he rode across lanes, drove into the median and hit a guardrail.

The victim, a Zephyrhills man, was thrown from the motorcycle and critically injured.  He was later pronounced dead at a hospital. His name has not yet been released.
