CLEARWATER, FL – Police in Clearwater reported they were on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash on the far west end of the Courtney Campbell Causeway Wednesday morning.
The accident happened in the westbound lanes just east of Dr. Kiran Patel Boulevard and was reported shorty before 10:30 a.m. Seven vehicles were reported to have been involved, including several trucks. At least two people were taken to the hospital, but no details were released on their injuries.
The westbound lanes were shut down in the area, blocking all causeway traffic into Clearwater. Police said the lanes would be shut down for some time, and advised drivers to seek alternate routes.
