APOLLO BEACH, FL – A car crashed while exiting Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County late Saturday night, killing a passenger inside the vehicle.

The Tampa Bay Times reports a 31-year-old Brandon woman was driving the car on I-75 south in Apollo Beach when the accident happened at about 11:40 p.m. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver was unable to negotiate a curve on the exit ramp to Big Bend Road and drove off the roadway.

The car went down an embankment and flipped over, ending up in a tree line off the interstate. A 43-year-old Brandon man who was a passenger was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver sustained minor injuries.
