News: Pedestrian dies after being struck by SUV on Shady Hills Road

SHADY HILLS, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol was on the scene of a fatal pedestrian accident in Pasco County Thursday night, according to the Tampa Bay Times.


State troopers said a 24-year-old man was walking across Shady Hills Road near the intersection with Platinum Drive at about 8:30 p.m. when he entered the path of a northbound SUV driven by a 61-year-old woman. The pedestrian, a New Port Richey resident, was struck by the vehicle and was pronounced dead later at an area hospital. His name was not released.


The SUV driver, a resident of Spring Hill, was not injured in the crash.
