ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Police say a pedestrian was struck and killed by a pickup truck in St. Petersburg last week.

In a news release, the St. Petersburg Police Department identified the victim as 55-year-old Henry Pino-Fonte. The accident occurred at the intersection of Pasadena Avenue North and Pinellas Way North Thursday night shortly after 10 p.m.

According to police, Pino-Fonte was crossing Pasadena Avenue from east to west when he was hit by a Ford F-150 pickup driven by 55-year-old Timothy J. Brill. Pino-Fonte was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brill remained at the scene and was said to be cooperating with investigators. Traffic homicide detectives said the driver did not see the pedestrian, and intoxication was not believed to have been a contributing factor in the incident.

Pasadena Avenue was shut down southbound from 2nd Avenue North to Central Avenue for the crash investigation.
