PORT RICHEY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol said a pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle on a highway in Pasco County, according to Fox 13 News.

State troopers stated that the victim was a 39-year-old Port Richey man who was trying to walk across U.S. Highway 19 near Gordon Drive on Sunday afternoon at about 12:45 p.m. He entered the path of a pickup truck that was heading north on U.S. 19 and was struck.

The pedestrian, a Port Richey resident, was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital. The pickup driver, a 25-year-old Hudson man, was not hurt in the crash.
