Pickup truck crashes into Clearwater pond

CLEARWATER, FL – A pickup truck crashed into a pond in front of the Pinellas County Justice Center on Wednesday afternoon.

According to ABC News, the 64-year-old driver’s boot got caught on the accelerator while he was parking the truck. This quick increase in speed caused the vehicle to go over a concrete curb, sidewalk, and fence before landing in the pond.

Local authorities were able to successfully remove the driver from the car after it became submerged.
