AUBURNDALE, FL – Police say they are investigating a collision at an intersection in Auburndale last week that killed a motorcyclist, the Daily Ridge reports.

The accident happened in the area of Berkley Road (SR 655) and Reiter Drive at about 5:08 p.m. on May 14. Investigators determined that Keon Jones of Auburndale was driving a Mazda SUV and was making a left turn at the intersection. At the same time Kevin Mock was approaching on a Suzuki GSXR 1000 motorcycle when he braked and skidded. The motorcycle hit the driver side of the Mazda and Mock, an Auburndale resident, suffered fatal injuries. Jones was not injured.

Police said they have interviewed some witnesses as part of the ongoing investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident was asked to contact the Auburndale Police Department.
