ELFERS, FL – Law enforcement authorities are trying to track down the driver who struck and killed a pedestrian in Pasco County last week.

According to WTSP , the incident occurred in the area of U.S. 19 and Manor Drive at about 10 a.m. on Christmas Day. Investigators with the Florida Highway Patrol determined that a 22-year-old man was walking on the highway when he was struck by a white 2012 Audi A6 in the right turn lane.

The man died of his injuries and the driver left the scene after the crash, authorities said.

The FHP issued information about the vehicle they are looking for, saying it is likely to have damage to the front or left-front side. The car was also said to have Florida tag PXYU59.

Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call the Florida Highway Patrol.
