SPRING HILL, FL – A suspected drunk driver has been arrested in connection with a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Spring Hill on Wednesday afternoon.

According to The Suncoast News , state troopers responded to the multi-vehicle accident in the area of County Line Road and Spring Time Street at about 1:50 p.m.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a 50-year-old SUV driver failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection and crashed into a motorcycle. The impact sent the motorcycle and its rider into the front of a pickup truck that was waiting to turn onto Spring Time Street.

The motorcycle rider, a 40-year-old Hudson woman, suffered fatal injuries in the wreck.  Officials said the SUV driver fled the scene of the accident but was apprehended later at her Spring Hill home.

The driver, identified as Frida Charlene Ross, now faces charges of DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a crash involving a death.
