Truck hauling boat and camper trailers crashes on Interstate 4

TAMPA, FL – Drivers on Interstate 4 faced traffic delays Friday morning when a pickup truck hauling two trailers crashed, according to the Tampa Bay Times.

The 30-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle on I-4 east in the vicinity of Thonotosassa Road at about 6:09 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said. A boat trailer and a camper trailer that were being pulled by the truck jackknifed and the boat ended up in an eastbound entrance ramp.

The driver and his 63-year-old passenger escaped without injury. Their names have not been released.

The incident tied up traffic in the area for at least an hour. The driver of the truck was cited for careless driving along with violations for having an oversize load.
