WINTER HAVEN, FL – Authorities identified the bicyclist who died after being struck in Winter Haven last week, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
This is an update to a previous story.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the victim was 53-year-old Samuel Harris of Winter Haven. Investigators determined he was riding his bicycle on Seventh Street SW near Avenue R SW at about 6:44 p.m. on Wednesday when he was hit from behind by a car. Harris was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was identified as 36-year-old Geneva Cunningham of Winter Haven. Cunningham was not hurt in the incident.
The crash remains under investigation, and there was no immediate word on whether charges would be filed.
