SARASOTA COUNTY, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol reports an elderly woman has passed away from her injuries several months after a crash in Sarasota County.
According to WWSB, the 78-yearold woman was driving a sedan on Jan. 19 in the area of U.S. 41 and Woodmere Park Boulevard when the accident occurred. She collided with a tractor-trailer that pulled in front of her at the intersection. Both of the drivers had solid green lights at the time, police said.
The sedan driver, a Venice resident, was transported to a hospital where she died on Monday. An investigation continues into the cause of the wreck.
