PINELLAS COUNTY, FL – According to WFLA, an alleged impaired driver has been charged with vehicular homicide after causing a fatal collision in Pinellas County on Saturday.

Marino Ceballos-Hernandez was driving a Toyota SUV through thick fog on East Bay Dr when he attempted to pass a vehicle in front of him, striking that car in the process. His vehicle then swerved into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a Nissan.

First responders were called to the scene around 1:30 a.m. The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene. Their rear-seat passenger was hospitalized with unknown injuries.

Police say Ceballos-Hernandez showed signs of impairment. A blood test revealed he had a BAC of .13, which is above the legal limit of .08 in Florida. It is unclear what charges he may be facing at this time.

The exact location on East Bay Dr where the incident occurred is unclear at this time.
