HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL – Sentencing was handed down last week for the driver involved in a deadly crash on Bayshore Boulevard in Tampa three years ago, the Tampa Bay Times reports.
This is an update to a previous story.
21-year-old Cameron Herrin was sentenced to 24 years in state prison Thursday for the May 23, 2018 accident. Prosecutors said he was driving a Ford Mustang while street racing with another driver when he struck a mother pushing her infant daughter in a stroller. The woman, 24-year-old Jessica Reisinger-Raubenolt, and her 21-month-old child were both killed.
Investigators said Herrin was going over 100 miles an hour just before the crash. He pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide last year. The man he was racing with, John Barrineau, also pleaded guilty in the case and is serving a six-year prison sentence.
