ST. PETERSBURG, FL – Police in St. Petersburg responded to a deadly pedestrian accident that partially closed one of the city’s streets Thursday night, according to WTSP.

Police said 63-year-old Jerry Lee Hardison was struck by a 2017 Acura SUV while attempting to walk across the street in the area of Roosevelt Boulevard and Martin Luther King Street north at about 7:45 p.m. Hardison was pronounced dead at the scene by fire rescue crews.

The driver of the SUV, 60-year-old Patricia Ann Holland, was not injured and was cooperating with investigators following the crash, police said.

The incident caused Roosevelt Boulevard to be shut down in both directions between 4th Street north and MLK Street north while the scene was being cleared.
