SARASOTA, FL – The Florida Highway Patrol has made an arrest In connection with a deadly wrong-way accident in Sarasota on Nov. 29, 2020.

 

WTSP reports 27-year-old Jasmine Ann Gray of North Port is facing two counts of DUI manslaughter. Investigators said Gray was driving a Honda Accord south on River Road near Center Road at about 5 a.m. when she veered across the center line into the northbound lane and collided with a Ford Focus head-on. The driver of the other car, a 28-year-old pregnant woman from Port Charlotte, and her unborn fetus were killed in the crash.

 

Gray was initially released from custody after being taken to the hospital. But a toxicology report later showed her blood alcohol level was .124, leading to her arrest last Thursday. She was booked into the Sarasota County Jail. In addition to the DUI charges, she was also charged with two counts of driving with a suspended license.
